Bastille veröffentlichen das Mixtape-Album „Other People’s Heartache Pt.4”.
Auf dem Album finden sich Coverversionen klassischer Poplieder und Neuinterpretationen von Bastille-Songs, sowie jede Menge illustrer Gäste.
“There’s something liberating about taking songs that we remember affectionately and presenting them in a totally different light” sagt Bastille-Sänger Dan. “They’re like homages or remakes, and even though they’re sometimes a bit tongue-in-cheek, I think there’s something brilliant in music that connects with people being able to echo on through time via other people’s interpretations.”
Bereits seit 2012 veröffentlichen Bastille immer wieder Mixtapes mit dem Titel “Other People’s Heartache”. Die dafür verwendeten Songs sind ein probates Mittel für Bastille, um sich an anderen Genres und Produktionsweisen zu versuchen und um mit anderen Künstlern zu arbeiten. Mit der Zeit sind die Mixtapes für die Band genauso wichtig geworden wie reguläre Studioalben.
Der Song „Grip“ ist die Single des Albums, den Fans schon lange live bekannt. Der Song trägt alle Merkmale eines typschen Bastille-Songs – ist euphorisch und ein wenig seltsam – aber das norwegischen Elektro- und Produzententrio SeeB verwandelt „Grip“ zu einer glückseligmachen EDM-Nummer.
